This ride will change locations, distances and intensity throughout the training season, so please get on the email list by mailing women@teamcoastalcycling.com to find out the details of the weekly ride. If there is a race that day, there is a good chance that the ride will be cancelled. |
Longer, slower route: We will head out from Vancouver to Richmond via UBC and Marine Drive. When we meet the group on River Road we will head West on River Road and then do a loop around Steveston and finish with an out an back at Iona before heading home. Spring/summer rides are a bit shorter and more intense. They may go to Richmond or Horseshoe Bay. Meeting place in Vancouver is at the Cuppa Joe coffee shop on 4th and Alma.
Shorter, faster route: We will head out from Vancouver to Richmond/Iona via UBC and Marine Drive. We turn around at Iona and head back the same way we came. Meeting place is at the Cuppa Joe coffee shop on 4th and Alma.
Shorter, faster route: We will head out to Horseshoe Bay by riding through Stanley Park and over the Lions Gate bridge. We will then follow Marine Drive to Horseshoe Bay. We turn around in Horsehoe Bay and head back the same way we came. Meeting place is at Burrard Station.
Hill route: We will head out to Gleneagles Community Centre (close to Horseshoe Bay) by riding through Stanley Park and over the Lions Gate bridge.
This ride is open to men and women, but the focus will be on race training for the Coastal women's team. We may even do some drills!
