Rider's Code

Fall coaching & training is now available click on Club rides and follow link!
Also, Note that the Monday ride starts at 6pm on Aug 25th!

PLEASE TAKE THE TIME READ THIS CAREFULLY, as it is how our scheduled rides are conducted and what your responsibilities are to each other, as in our rider.s code.

  • Group rides are meant to be "all who start together - finish together".
  • Be aware that Team Coastal Cycling has different rides for different abilities.
  • Some of the designated rides have a specific pace to accommodate riders who are new or unfamiliar with group riding.

Important reasons for sticking together:

  • A rider may have had a mechanical problem.
  • He or She may be recovering from injury and are just getting back to the level of that particular group.
  • A rider may be new to the distance and speed of that particular ride.
  • A rider may just be having a difficult day.
  • IT.S GOOD RIDER ETIQUETTE!

Remember The Riders Code!

  • It is EVERYONE'S responsibility to ensure no one is dropped (some of the Tempo level rides may be at a pace where some folks get dropped.). Don't assume someone else is watching.
  • Stick to the pace that is set for the ride. 30kmh does not mean 37kmh after coffee!
  • Riders feel an enormous sense of gratification when they finish with the group.
  • Our success has been based on our ability to accommodate everyone!
  • Be aware of the back of the group, it.s YOUR responsibility to know if someone is missing!
  • Lastly, If you feel that the group ride is wrong for you there are other rides available to provide the right challenge.

Fender Reminder

When it's wet please be sure to have fenders & flaps on your bike. The fenders & flaps are mainly for the person riding behind you. Let's be mindful of all that sit on a wheel.
