The Course (Sign on is at bottom of page)
The Start/Finish line will be at 192nd street and 26th avenue. The race will travel south on 192nd for 2 km. At 16th avenue (also called Hazelmere) we will turn right and head west for 1.6 km. After a right turn on 184th street, we will travel north for 1.6 km until we reach 28th avenue. After turning right on 28th, we travel 800 meters east, then turn left and travel 800 meters north on 188th street. We'll turn right on 32nd avenue and ride for 800 meters before turning right on 192nd. The start finish line will be approximately 800 meters past this corner.
The course is relatively flat, with rolling hills and false flats. We'll climb about 300 feet per lap, but the aren't really any serious climbs. Here is an elevation profile:
Road Closures
The roads will remain open during the race with only the rightmost lane on two lane roads being closed to traffic. Marshals will ensure that cars do not drive in the lane the racers are in from the lead rider until at least the peleton has past through. If you are behind the main pack, all traffic regulations apply and must be followed. On two way roads with a single lane in each directions, you will be disqualified for crossing the centre line. On roads with more than one lane, you will be qualified for crossing the white line dividing the rightmost lane
Parking
There will be plenty of parking in the industrial area near the start finish line. Please be respectful of the area: don't litter, don't block driveways, fire hydrants, or anything else that the residents or business owners may need access to.
