June 8, 2008 Team Coastal Abbotsford Road Race

Fall coaching & training is now available click on Club rides and follow link!
Also, Note that the Monday ride starts at 6pm on Aug 25th!

The Course
This course is the original "Atomic Race Course", that most BC racers know very well.

It has been used for years in BC cup and Spring Series races, and for good reason: it's a

challenging course that any fit rider can win.

The Start finish is at King and Bradner road. We'll head north along this straight, flat

section, before turning right onto the newly paved Simpson Road. Simpson is a straight,

smooth descent that leads us to Ross Road, a twisty, rolling two lane country road that

will throw a bit of everything at the pack.

After a spectacular descent and smooth right turn onto Huntingdon, we'll head east for

the longest hill of the race. At the top of that hill, the race turns back onto Bradner

road, where it twists and dives its way towards the steep uphill finish.

Here is an elevation profile:

 Road Closures

The roads will remain open during the race. Marshals will ensure that cars do not drive in

the lane the racers are in from the lead rider until at least the peleton has past through.

If you are behind the main pack, all traffic regulations apply and must be followed. On

two way roads with a single lane in each direction, you will be disqualified for crossing the

centre line. On roads with more than one lane, you will be disqualified for crossing the

white line dividing the rightmost lane

Parking

There will be plenty of parking King Road near the start finish line. Please be respectful of

the area: don't litter, don't block driveways, fire hydrants, or anything else that the

residents or business owners may need access to.
