On June 20th 2009 we will embark on our 5th Annual Ride2Survive - One day only - From Kelowna to Vancouver BC. Please Join Our Team if you are interested in participating in this great, grass-roots, all volunteer event.
This video depicts the ride and one of our friends and Cancer Survivor, Megan McNeil sings her song "The Will to Survive" for our Ride2Survive.
What are we about?
- We are the Canadian Cancer Society BC-Yukon regions' largest, independent, single day fundraising event.
- We are proud that 100% of the money raised by the Ride2Survive goes directly to research programs funded by the Canadian Cancer Society.
- No funds raised are used within the Society's administrative budget and are wholly directed to areas of research by a vote of the riders and volunteers of the Ride2Survive.
- In 2007, donations were directed to research in Pediatric and Blood cancers. Again this year, a vote will determine the area of research that will benefit from the ride.
- All ride costs are incurred by riders, volunteers and a few local businesses - YOUR DONATION DOLLARS ARE NOT USED TO COVER ANY EXPENSES OF THE RIDE such as advertising, food, promotional goods, gas etc.
- We have no paid staff, we don't pay celebrity riders to ride with us... so your donation dollars don't pay for those either.
- It is a very personal commitment by those directly involved in the Ride2Survive; one which we believe sets us apart.
In 4 short years we have raised almost $500,000 that has gone directly to Cancer Research. Help us do more!
"One of the most powerful images we have in our minds were the people on the side of the road, not only honking and waving.... but holding up pictures of loved ones affected by cancer" - Kerry and Vicki Kunzli

The spirit of the Ride2Survive lies in the memory of those who have lost their battle with cancer, those in the throes of their fight, those in remission, and those who remain as yet undiagnosed.
The courage to commit and the strength to ride comes from those whose lives have been affected by cancer. We never forget why we ride... for mothers, for fathers, for sisters, for brothers, for sons, for daughters, for aunts, for uncles, for cousins, for grandparents, for friends, for coworkers... for you.
In 4 short years, we have made a huge difference! Thank you!
It is not too late to donate

I can't describe the emotions that Vicki and I have gone through over the past year in planning this year's ride and seeing it actually happen. I can tell you that the sight of hundreds of people blocking and lining Scott Road (with some help from the Police) to welcome us home absolutely took our breath away.
...Seeing the joy in the faces of the volunteers as they helped riders get ready to ride and hearing them say they wouldn't have missed it for the world.
